凯利（达芙妮•祖尼加 Daphne Zuniga 饰）是一个非常喜欢跳舞的奔放女孩，然而，她的父母却希望她能够进入法学院深造，非常不支持凯利去实现她的舞蹈梦想。在和家人因为梦想而爆发了无数次的争吵后，凯利渐渐萌生了放弃梦想的年头。 在父母的强迫下，凯利前往印度参加一场婚礼，在婚礼现场，凯利第一次领略到了印度舞蹈的风采。欢快的音乐和舞动的人群让凯利再也压抑不住内心的冲动，加入了跳舞的队列之中，她的惊人举动也令她结识了名为亚信（保罗•麦克吉莱恩 Paul McGillion）的男子。当地的印度舞蹈团邀请凯利加入他们的队伍，凯利将自己擅长的街舞元素加入了传统印度舞蹈之中。
